East Hook Holiday Cottages - Clover Cottage
This is Clover Cottage, one of a pair at East Hook Farm. It’s ours, semi-detached, and about three hundred years old. You get your own small private lawn at the back. The front has a seating area.
It sleeps seven people. Three bedrooms, one family bathroom. There’s an extra single bed we can put in one of the doubles if you need it. It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, not luxurious.
Inside, the living room is big. There’s an open fireplace for logs. The kitchen has a proper family-size table and all the usual things: cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine. The bathroom is downstairs, with a shower over the bath.
Outside, you share a big open grass area with Daisy Cottage next door. There are picnic tables, benches, and a barbeque. The view of Dartmoor from there is very good. It’s dark at night, good for stargazing.
It’s quiet here. You can walk into Okehampton in about thirty minutes using the Tarka Trail, or drive it in five. The town has shops and pubs.
Dartmoor National Park is right there. You're on the edge of it. For walking, you can get up to High Willhays, the highest point. For something organised, Adventure Okehampton does canoeing and climbing. The Ten Tors challenge happens on the moor each year.
If you want to drive out, Roadford Lake is close for water sports. Okehampton Castle is a ruin run by English Heritage. The coast is about forty-five minutes. North Devon beaches like Woolacombe, or places like Clovelly.
We’ve been running the farm here since the 1970s. The cottages are on the Tarka Trail and a cycle route, so good for walking or biking from the door.
Practical stuff: bedding and towels are included. There's parking. WiFi. We can provide a cot and highchair. We take up to two dogs.
