East Hook Holiday Cottages - Daisy Cottage

East Hook Holiday Cottages are a few miles outside Okehampton. Daisy Cottage is one of them, a semi-detached place. It's about three hundred years old.

The cottage sleeps six people across three bedrooms. There's one bathroom, which is downstairs. The stairs are traditional cottage stairs, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than modern ones.

Inside, there are old oak beams and an open fireplace with a wood burner. It's a warm, comfortable sort of place. The kitchen has what you'd need: cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine.

Outside the back, there's a private lawn and seating area. You also share a big open field with the other cottage. There are picnic tables and a barbecue you can use. The view over to Dartmoor from there is very good. It's dark at night, so you can see the stars well.

You can walk into Okehampton in about half an hour using the Tarka Trail path. The town has shops and places to eat. Dartmoor is right on your doorstep for walking. It's only a few miles north to get up onto the high moor.

If you drive for about half an hour, you can get to Roadford Lake for water sports, or Okehampton Castle. The north Devon and Cornwall coast, with beaches like Woolacombe, is also within that sort of distance.

The place is run by the family that owns the farm. They've been doing it for a long time.

Practical things: Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right there. It has a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean without being luxurious.
