Heath Hills

Heath Hills is near Folly Gate, just outside Okehampton. It's a big old farmhouse, sleeps ten. Detached, so you get the place to yourselves. Good sized garden with a patio and a barbecue.

It's an 18th century place, built from cob. We've renovated it, but it's still got that old house feeling. The stairs are a bit steeper than a modern house, just so you know. Inside it's spacious. There's a big living room with a wood burner and a TV. Off the back, there's a sunroom with another TV, which is handy if some of you want to watch something different.

Five bedrooms upstairs, one bedroom down. Two bathrooms up. One has a walk-in shower, the other has a shower over the bath.

Okehampton's about three miles away for shops and things. There's a local pub you can walk to, about half a mile. You're right on the edge of Dartmoor here. Good walking straight from the door. You can pick up the Tarka Trail nearby, and Abbeyford Woods is worth a look. The old railway walk to Meldon Reservoir is nice.

For a day out, National Trust Castle Drogo is about fifteen minutes by car. The coast at places like Teignmouth or Exmouth is under an hour.

Facilities: it's got the usual things. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.

Useful links: The Dartmoor National Park site is good for walking routes and weather. The National Trust Devon page lists their local properties.
