Pondmead

This is Pondmead. It's a thatched barn we converted, on our working farm outside Monkokehampton. It's detached, so it's just you. The views are across our fields towards Dartmoor.

It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, one's an en-suite to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not posh.

Inside, it's got beamed ceilings. The living room has a wood burner that runs on gas, so it's easy. The kitchen is big enough for everyone to have breakfast together. The utility room has a washing machine and an extra fridge-freezer.

Outside, there's a decent sized garden, mostly lawn. It's enclosed. There's a patio with seating and a BBQ. You can see the sunset from there.

Being on a farm, you'll see the animals come and go. You're welcome to walk around the farm tracks, just shut the gates. The lane is quiet but it is a working farm lane, so tractors use it.

The village of Monkokehampton is a couple of miles away. It's tiny, has a pub. For shops, you need to drive to Hatherleigh, Winkleigh or Iddesleigh. They're about ten to fifteen minutes.

For walking, you're right on the edge of Dartmoor. You can drive onto the moor in about twenty minutes. The Tarka Trail and the Granite Way are close by for cycling. The north coast beaches, like Westward Ho! and Croyde, are about forty-five minutes to an hour's drive.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for two, maybe three cars. We allow up to two dogs.
