North Barn
North Barn is just outside Monkokehampton in Devon. It's our barn conversion, detached, in the middle of some fields. You get the whole place and garden to yourselves.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which basically means it's very well equipped and in good nick. Everything works and it's clean. The stairs are fine, they're just a normal staircase.
All the bedrooms have TVs and decent storage. Two of them have their own shower rooms. The main living area is open plan: kitchen, dining, sitting room. There's a big table, an island in the kitchen, and a large sofa. The doors open out onto the patio.
Outside, there's a patio with a table and a parasol, plus an enclosed lawn at the back. It's all private. You can bring up to two dogs. We provide a cot, highchair, and a stairgate if you need them.
For facilities, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right there.
The location is rural. The nearest proper shops and pubs are in Iddesleigh, Hatherleigh, or Winkleigh, all about a five to ten minute drive. Iddesleigh is where Michael Morpurgo wrote 'War Horse'.
You're right between Dartmoor and Exmoor. Good walking and cycling from the door. The Tarka Trail and Granite Way are close by for bikes. The north coast beaches like Westward Ho!, Saunton, and Croyde are about a 40 minute drive. Dartmoor is about 20 minutes south. The market towns of Okehampton and Crediton are within half an hour.
