West View
West View is in Castle Carrock, near Brampton. It's a detached house we finished doing up a few years ago. It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
There's a decent sized garden that's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. You can park right outside. Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler nights, a dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. All bedding and towels are included.
The village itself is small and quiet. The local pub is about a minute's walk away and does good food. The nearest shop is in Brampton, about four miles.
For things to do, you're well placed. Talkin Tarn is close by for walking and fishing. Birdoswald Roman Fort, which is part of Hadrian's Wall, is a short drive. The National Trust has information about that.
You can get to the edge of the Lake District, the Solway Coast, or into Northumberland in about half an hour. The North Pennines AONB website has walking routes and details about the area right on your doorstep.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's a highchair if you need one.
