The Cottage At 1710 is in Greenwell, near Brampton. It's semi-detached to the main farmhouse, 1710. They share the front garden area, but it's open plan so it never feels crowded. The cottage itself is all yours.
It's a small place for three people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It got a full refurbishment a few years back, so it's clean and works well, but it's still an old building. It's got a 3 Star rating, which feels right: comfortable and tidy, not luxurious. One of the windows has a smaller, older window preserved inside the frame. They call it the window in the window.
Greenwell is very quiet. It's a hamlet, so don't expect a shop. There's a pub about a 15 minute walk away for a drink or a meal. Brampton has shops and a few more places to eat, about four miles by car.
You're well placed here for getting out. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive. Talkin Tarn Country Park is close for a walk around the water. Carlisle is about 20 minutes in the car. You can get into the northern edges of the Lake District, like Penrith or Keswick, in roughly half an hour. The Scottish borders and Northumberland are also easy from here.
What's here: a wood burning stove, parking, wifi, a TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We can take one well-behaved dog.
