Blackhill Cottage is in Hallbankgate. It's a detached cottage, just for two people. It sleeps two, with one bedroom. The bathroom has a good shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The place was renovated but they kept the big old fireplace, which is nice. The main room has a wood burning stove. Everything is on one level, so there are no stairs to worry about.

The village is quiet. There's a pub that does food about a five minute walk away. The nearest proper shop is in Brampton, about four miles.
Brampton is a small market town. It's got some good places to eat and a few shops. It's about a ten minute drive.
For history, you're close to Hadrian's Wall. You can be at the Roman Army Museum or some of the forts in under half an hour. Carlisle is about a twenty minute drive the other way. It has a castle and a museum.
If you like walking, the RSPB Geltsdale reserve is just up the road. For a bigger day out, the northern edge of the Lake District is maybe forty minutes by car. The Scottish Borders are also close, about twenty minutes to the north.
