Meadow View is a cottage in Armathwaite Manor, an old building just outside the village. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is handy.
The place has a 5 Star rating. That means it's quite high spec. There's a big TV, good beds, and a deep bath. The kitchen leads through to a dining room and then the living room. It's all been done up.
Outside, there's a private patio with a hot tub. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking on site, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
The building is from 1829, so it's a proper old manor house. The stairs are typical for a place like that. Not a problem, just something to be aware of.
Armathwaite is a small village on the River Eden. There's a local pub. It's on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, if that's your sort of thing. You can walk down into the village easily.
You're right on the edge of the Lake District here. It's about a fifteen-minute drive to the northern lakes, like Bassenthwaite. The Lake District National Park site has good walking routes. Hadrian's Wall is under half an hour away by car, and the English Heritage page is useful for that. Carlisle is about twenty minutes north if you need a city or the motorway.
That's about it. It's a comfortable base for that part of the world.
