Woodstore Cottage is in my yard. It used to be the wood store for Lazonby Hall, which is the big house behind it. I think we did the conversion in 2008.
It’s for two people. One bedroom, but it has two bathrooms for some reason. It’s a four star place, so it’s comfortable. There’s a woodburning stove. The floor downstairs is stone flags, and there are some beams. It’s a bit dark, but it’s cosy. There’s a harpsichord and a clavichord in there. You’re welcome to play them if you know how. They came with the hall.
The cottage has its own little patio with a table. You get the whole yard to yourself.
Lazonby village is about a mile down the road. There’s a supermarket and a couple of pubs. The nearest one, the Royal Oak, does food. The M6 is about ten minutes by car if you need to get on it.
For local things, you’re in the Eden Valley. The river’s good for a walk. Penrith is a short drive and has more shops. The northern lakes like Ullswater are maybe half an hour’s drive, depending on traffic. Castle Carrock fell is nearby if you want a walk with a view. Hadrian’s Wall is about thirty minutes to the east.
Inside, it’s got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV. Bedding is included. Parking is by the cottage. No pets, sorry.
