Glen Dye is a private estate of approximately 30, 000 acres with cabins and cottages situated in the centre, surrounded by forest and moorland. Here you are right on the banks of the River Dye, where you can be at one with nature and wander through your luscious surroundings to your heart’s content.
No. 4 Steading Cottage is the perfect holiday home in a beautiful location. This semi-detached house was designed by Young Architects of the Year, NORD, in 2012, as part of a full conversion of a set of then derelict Victorian farm buildings. The house has been modernised with accommodation for 7 guests- no detail has been overlooked to ensure a unique style of holiday home. The private yard includes a brilliant Big Green Egg barbecue and outdoor garden furniture, where you can revel in the outdoors. Just 50 metres away, down a woodland path, sits a private, Swedish wood-fired hot tub; you won’t be able to tear yourselves away!
This location is fabled; watched over by the impressive granite tor of Clochnaben and at the northern end of the Cairn o Mount mountain pass. This is where the Howe of the Mearns finally gives in to the Highland boundary fault; wild, beautiful and very quiet.
There are three holiday cottages on-site, No. 4 The Steading, No. 5 The Steading and North Lodge . Each have their own outdoor, wood-fired hot tubs and North Lodge has its own private cabin. Beach 23 miles. Shop, pub 8 miles and restaurant 6 miles.
No. 4 Steading can be booked together with No 5 The Steading and North Lodge to accommodate up to 20 guests.
