Delve into the history of this unique and beautiful 18th-century period estate. Nestled in the lowlands of Aberdeenshire, the House of Elrick Estate is a family home which has only passed hands five times in 300 years. Built at the height of the Scottish Enlightenment period in 1720, it hosted lively discussions from some of the most respected creative, philosophical and scientific minds of the time, and also welcomed both Bonnie Prince Charlie and the famous illustrator Eleanor Vere Boyle, renowned for illustrating stories for Hans Christian Andersen and Alfred Lord Tennyson, as well as writing poetry about Elrick.
The estate has been extensively renovated to provide a wonderful exclusive environment for that special occasion or get together. The gardens date back to the 17th century with woodland surrounding areas of parkland and gardens. A wander around the grounds here will restore and revive! The Burn of Straloch runs alongside the 52 acres.
