Ferry Cottage was originally built for the ferryman who operated a ferry service crossing the River Deveron in a wooden rowing boat until as recently as the early 20th century. Perfect for anglers and holiday-makers alike, the cottage enjoys beautiful views across the River Deveron.
The cottage has a wonderful warm and welcoming, quintessentially Scottish feel. The cosy living area is the perfect place to warm up after a long day outdoors, with a working fireplace and comfortable seating area. The separate dining room in the centre of the cottage provides a sociable area to share tales of the day, while the kitchen comes fully equipped with utensils, tableware and modern appliances including dishwasher, fridge and oven. The cottage comfortably sleeps five guests but can host up to seven, with four bedrooms in total.
In the main cottage, there is a single bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, and two small double bedrooms upstairs which share a modern bathroom. To the front of the cottage, the separate annexe provides fantastic accommodation for two additional guests in a twin room with beautifully timber-clad walls and its own private shower room.
During the summer months, the picnic area to the front of the cottage is a wonderful spot to enjoy al fresco dining and beautiful views across the river. Ferry Cottage is located a 15-minute drive away from the nearest town, Turriff, where there is a supermarket, petrol station, pharmacy and many other shops and amenities. The local area offers a fantastic variety of attractions and activities. 3* Visit Scotland.
