Ben Shea Smart House
From the moment you arrive the house welcomes you with automated lighting and heating set to an ambient temperature. Light scenes and music are available in most rooms. Night mode guides you to the bathroom or kitchen when it’s dark. Motion initiates a lot of your smart home features, so don’t worry about having to ‘learn’ the house! You can control shading, lighting scene options, music volume and select from ‘favourite’ radio stations on the iPad. Feel free to navigate around the system should you wish – at the same time there is no need to adjust anything if the house is taking care of you just as it is.
The first floor is open plan with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy living area complete with wood burner. The stunning stone wall and room features are enhanced by different lighting scene options. The coffee table raises and extends simply to suit your dining needs from 2 to 6 people. Smart gadgets aside, when it comes to the bedrooms the biggest features are their luxurious beds – which are the same as The Savoy! Each can be made up as a super king or twin beds. Rooms are complemented with automated shading, inset speakers and ambient temperature control. Both shower rooms have a walk-in shower, and toilet, the first floor shower room has motion based music and lighting.
On the mezzanine floor Ben Shea has a snug garden room, which leads to the private garden, also with motion sensor lighting. A lovely peaceful spot to wind down with a refreshing drink after the day’s adventures. The location is perfect for the whisky trail as Dufftown is the single malt capital. It is also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with many walks, hills and open spaces to be explored. Stunning beaches are a short driving distance on the beautiful Moray coast. Shops, pubs and restaurants 200 yards.
