The Croft is a large, detached family cottage, with a ground floor layout suitable for extended families, walking parties or couples looking to get away and enjoy the surrounding area. Set on a large plot, there is plenty of open space and garden for everyone to enjoy. Once inside, the accommodation offers a large kitchen/dining room, a living room with patio doors opening out onto the outdoor dining area, where you will find the hot tub. The master bedroom has a large en-suite bathroom with spa bath, a super kingsize bed with built-in TV screen at the foot-end of the bed, and access to the sunroom, perfect for that quiet place to relax in away from the rest of the group. A family bathroom and utility room complete the layout.
Nearby is the village of Aberchirder, known locally as Foggieloan, and is a centre for walking and cycling. Cleanhill Wood forms the hub of a set of paths and quiet country roads which suit walkers and cyclists of all ages, and often offer stunning views, particularly to the Grampian Mountains to the southwest. There are award-winning whisky distilleries, historic castles, salmon fishing rivers and walking and cycling countryside. Single malt whiskies attract many visitors to Scotland, and Aberchirder is within 15 minutes’ drive of the distilleries at Glendronach and Knock; it also lies near the eastern edge of the Speyside Whisky Trail.
The coastline is filled with beautiful sandy bays where you can walk for miles, and there are numerous fishing ports and tranquil villages with a host of shops selling Scottish produce. Visit the fish sheds in Macduff and Whitehills and see the selection of freshly landed haddock and many other species which are well worth trying. Haddock – fresh and smoked – is the main ingredient of Cullen Skink, a local fish soup. The area is well suited for outdoor enthusiasts with many walks and cycle routes from the front door. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 5 miles.
