Westend
Westend is a large spacious property, well presented and pleasantly furnished. The comfy sofas in the bright and airy living room enjoy views over the rolling rural landscape, and large family sized kitchen has everything you need to cook up a hearty meal and enjoy a good night’s sleep with three bedrooms offering flexible layouts so can easily accommodate families, or small groups of walkers or cyclists. A handy utility room has plenty of space to leave muddy boots, whilst the games room with full sized pool table and darts board will be popular with everyone. Outside a large garden laid mainly to lawn enjoys open views of the surrounding fields, springtime you will see the young lambs. Sit back and relax and watch the ever-changing beauty of this lovely part of the Scottish Highlands.
The nearby village of Duffus has characteristic right angled roads on its approach, and here you will find the local village store and the rather nice Duffus Inn. Be sure to take a look at the nearby Duffus Castle dating back to Norman times. Just 5 minutes away is Covesea, a small seaside resort, the beach is one of the best in the area and The Covesea Caves are best known for the Sculptor’s Cave, which derives its name from the Pictish carvings which adorn its entrance walls. This is a wonderful area close to the beautiful Moray coastline and voted by National Geographic as being in the top twenty most scenic coastal destinations in the world. Moray is renowned for being one of the sunniest and driest counties in Scotland along with its long, unspoilt sandy beaches and amazing wildlife where dolphins can be regularly sighted from the shoreline.
This is a destination you will enjoy at any time of the year. For the sports and outdoor enthusiasts there are many superb links golf courses within a short drive and excellent salmon and trout fishing on the rivers Deveron, Spey and Findhorn. Also available are a large range of water sports including kayaking and boat trips to name but a few. Inland there is the famous Malt Whisky Trail where you can sample some of Scotland’s finest whiskies, its the only one of its kind in the world. The Speyside Way is well worth exploring taking you through some magnificent scenery. Take a trip inland to the Cairngorms National Park with its stunning scenery and wide range of outdoor pursuits.
