The living room on open plan to smart dining kitchen is a great space with a stone wall at the gable end and high beamed ceilings. The cottage is a short stroll to the wonderfully warm outdoor- yes! - outdoor Olympic sized swimming pool which is very popular in the summer months and open from end of May to beginning of September each year.
Enjoy award winning fish and chips or perhaps a delicious ice cream at the seafront or wander through the town to the marina which is a lovely place to enjoy a meal or drink in one of the charming restaurants and pubs while watching the maritime comings and goings, The Tolbooth Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the town while Dunnottar Castle, set above the harbour is well worth the walk to it, famously where a small garrison held out against the might of Cromwell’s army for eight months and saved the Scottish Crown Jewels, the ‘Honours of Scotland’, from destruction.
The cottage is a short walk to Stonehaven Golf Club, which welcomes visitors – there are stunning views over the course and out to sea or take a trip to the cosmopolitan city of Aberdeen, just a 15-minute drive for plenty of shopping, theatre and cinema excursions.
