The Seven Bridges Walk is accessed from the back of the house; this popular 5-mile circular walk takes you around the town of Ballater, visiting several bridges on the River Dee and the River Muick, via lovely riverside paths, peaceful woodland trails and great views of the surrounding Cairngorms Mountains. Ballater is surrounded by glorious countryside including Craigendarroch hill, the River Dee, and is in the Cairngorms National Park. Ballater is 43 miles west of Aberdeen and 8 miles from Balmoral Castle. Renowned for its royal connections, the village has many shops and businesses displaying the Royal warrants of the Queen and Prince Charles.
A short drive will take you to the slopes of the Lecht – a popular seasonal destination for skiers and snowboarders. But if you prefer a more sedate holiday there are plenty of shops, cafés and eateries just a short stroll from the house. An ideal destination at any time of the year. A hairdryer is supplied.
