Located in the heart of Royal Deeside, Ballater is surrounded by glorious countryside including Craigendarroch Hill, the River Dee, and is located in the Cairngorms National Park. Ballater is 43 miles west of Aberdeen and 8 miles from Balmoral Castle. A short drive will take you to the slopes of the Lecht, a popular seasonal destination for skiers and snowboarders. But if you prefer a more sedate holiday there are plenty of shops, cafés and eateries just a stroll from the house. This is an ideal destination at any time of the year.
