Cruachan is a lodge near Etteridge. It's detached and sits on a quiet caravan site. There's space around it and you can see the Cairngorm mountains.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main room is open plan, with a kitchen, dining area, and living space. There are patio doors out to a decked garden area. The window at the end is big and lets in a lot of light.
The site is very quiet. You're about three miles from Newtonmore, which has a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and a small supermarket.
You're pretty much in the middle of Scotland here. There's a monument marking the spot a short walk down the lane. It's a good base. You're on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Aviemore is about a 20-minute drive for more shops and things like the funicular railway. Inverness is under an hour to the east. Fort William and Ben Nevis are about an hour and a half to the west.
There's a kids' play area on site. The facilities list says local fishing, golf, and horse riding are available nearby if you want to look into that.
For things to do, the Cairngorms National Park website is useful. The National Trust for Scotland Cairngorms page has information too.
Facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and on-site parking. Bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. You can bring up to two pets.
You can book it together with the lodge next door, called The Den, if you need space for more people.
