This is Einich, our place in Newtonmore. It's a detached granite house right in the village. The main thing is the view from the front: it looks straight across the golf course to the hills. It's a good spot for watching the weather come in.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means everything works and it's clean, but don't expect anything fancy. It's a proper family house. We allow one well-behaved dog.
You've got a fully enclosed garden at the back, which is handy if you've got kids or the dog. Parking is on the drive. Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and all the bedding and towels are included. We've also got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The village shop and a pub are about five minutes' walk away. The pub does food. You're right in the Cairngorms National Park here, so walking and cycling start from the door. The local golf course is just over the road. Horse riding and fishing are nearby if you arrange it.
Aviemore is about twenty minutes' drive east. That's where you'll find bigger supermarkets and more places to eat. From there you can get up the Cairngorm Mountain road or visit the funicular. The Highland Wildlife Park is just outside Kingussie, which is a few minutes south of us. The Highland Folk Museum is in Newtonmore itself, which is good for a wet day.
For a longer day out, Inverness is just over an hour north. Loch Ness and Culloden are out that way too. Going south, Fort William is about an hour and a half.
Useful links if you're planning: Cairngorms National Park and NatureScot. The National Park site is best for maps and activities.
