Einich

Einich is in Newtonmore, up in the Highlands. It's a detached granite house, fairly traditional-looking. It's on a quiet spot and looks out over the golf course.

It sleeps eight, which feels about right, and there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable but not new. The stairs inside, just to be clear, are open-tread and spiral. They're quite steep.

There's a shop and a pub about a five minute walk away. The main village of Newtonmore is about the same distance; you can walk to it across the golf course.

You're right in the Cairngorms National Park. Aviemore is a 20 minute drive for bigger shops and more places to eat. The Highland Folk Museum is just on the edge of Newtonmore, which is good for a look around.

The railway up Cairn Gorm mountain, the ospreys at Loch Garten, and the Highland Wildlife Park are all within a 30 minute drive. If you want a longer day out, Inverness or Loch Ness are less than an hour away.

The house has an enclosed garden, parking for two cars, and a washing machine. There's also a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. We can take one well-behaved dog.

If you're planning your trip, the official park site is useful: Cairngorms National Park. The RSPB Loch Garten page is good for osprey information.
