The Den
The Den is a lodge near a village called Etteridge, in the Cairngorms. It's detached, so you're on your own. It's in a quiet spot with a view of the mountains from the decking.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is on one level, which is good if stairs are a problem. The front door has a small step.
The place is open plan, so it feels quite spacious. Big patio doors let in a lot of light and lead out to the deck. There's a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can bring two.
The site has some shared space, including a play area for kids. If you have a horse, you can arrange stabling with the farmer next door.
You're about three miles from Newtonmore. That's where you'll find a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat. You're right in the middle of the country here, so it's a good base. Ben Nevis is about an hour west, and Inverness is under an hour east.
