Baltinna West is one of a pair of lodges just outside Newtonmore. They're joined together but completely separate. You get your own enclosed decked area out the front.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom upstairs, and the living area is open-plan downstairs. It has a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The kitchen is modern and has what you need.
There's a wood burner in the living room. It's nice in the evening. Upstairs, the bedroom has a kingsize bed and there's a separate shower room. The bath is a roll-top one in the bedroom itself.
The deck is fenced. We see red squirrels there quite often. The view from the front is towards the Monadhliath mountains.
Newtonmore village is a couple of minutes walk. There are pubs that do food, a shop, a takeaway. You don't need to drive if you don't want to.
You're in the Cairngorms National Park. The Wildcat Trail starts in the village. It's a good walk. For bigger walks, you're well placed for the Cairngorms and the Monadhliaths. Aviemore is about 15 minutes by car. Inverness is about 45 minutes.
For things to do locally, there's fishing on the Spey, mountain biking, and several golf courses. There are distilleries around if that's your interest.
Facilities: parking right outside, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
