Tigh Beag

Tigh Beag is in Balgowan, up in the Highlands. It's a small, old cottage from about 1850. It's quiet here, just a few houses around. The views are good, over the Spey Valley at the front and the Monadhliath hills at the back.

It sleeps three people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. The kitchen and bathroom are in a newer extension, so they're modern. There's a washing machine. The main thing in the living room is the wood burner. It's very cosy when that's on.

The garden is enclosed. There's a lawn at the front and a more sheltered bit at the back with some seating.

You're right in the Cairngorms here. For walking, you can start from the door. For mountain biking, the Wolftrax centre is about ten minutes away by car. You often see birds of prey from the garden, like red kites.

The village of Laggan is close. It has a coffee shop. Newtonmore and Kingussie are a short drive for shops and places to eat. Aviemore is about half an hour away. That's where you'll find more facilities, and it's the main spot for getting into the mountains. Fort William is under an hour's drive.

In terms of what's here: there's parking, bedding and towels are included, WiFi, a TV, and the wood burner. No pets, sorry.
