The Hemmel is a converted barn near Tarset in Northumberland. It’s on a working farm, but it's one of three houses here, so you’ll probably see other guests around. The views are good, long and rural. It was finished in 2019, so everything is still quite new.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. The main living area has high ceilings and big bi-fold doors that open onto the patio.
The kitchen is custom-built with quartz worktops. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The entrance and a wet room are wheelchair accessible. There’s parking and an electric car charger.
You're in the Northumberland National Park, so the walking is right on your doorstep. It's also a Dark Sky Park. If it's a clear night, you don't need to go anywhere special, just step outside.
The village of Bellingham is about five minutes’ drive. It has shops, a couple of pubs and cafés. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Hexham, which is about half an hour away.
Kielder Water is a 20-25 minute drive. That's where you go for water sports, cycling, or walking around the reservoir.
You can be on the Northumberland coast in around an hour. Places like Bamburgh and Alnwick are good for a day out. The Scottish Borders are also close, maybe 45 minutes to an hour.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's an enclosed garden. We provide bedding and towels. A cot and highchair are here if you need them.
