Elm Croft is our cottage in Falstone. It's detached, which means you won't be sharing any walls. It sleeps eight across four bedrooms and there are two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean.
The cottage is in the middle of the village. The local shop and a tea room are about 75 yards away. The pub is maybe 100 yards. They serve food. The garden at the back is enclosed. There's a gate that opens into a small play park, which is handy if you've got kids with you.
Inside, there's a wood burner for the evenings. It heats the place up well. We've included all the bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. We allow up to two dogs.
You're about a mile from Kielder Water. It's a huge reservoir. People go there for sailing, fishing, and cycling. There's a hop-on, hop-off ferry that goes around it from Leaplish Waterside Park. That park also has a bird of prey centre and an indoor pool.
The area is part of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. On a clear night, you can see an incredible amount of stars. The Kielder Observatory is nearby for events, and you might even see the Northern Lights in winter.
Bellingham is about nine miles away for basic shops, a bank, and a post office. For a bigger town, Hexham is about 25 miles. It's historic, with a proper abbey and market.
