Merry Burn Barn
Merry Burn Barn is near Falstone on our farm. It’s just for two people. It’s one bedroom and one bathroom all on the ground floor. We did it up in 2020 so it’s clean and modern.
The views are good. You look out over fields. It’s quiet here.
You’ll see we have alpacas. We run Ferny Rigg Alpacas. The bed has an alpaca duvet, which is warm. There are often fresh eggs from our hens if you want them.
There’s about three quarters of a mile of fishing on the North Tyne you can use for free.
The local pub in Falstone is a mile away. It’s friendly. The nearest shop is ten miles, in Bellingham.
Kielder Water is about fifteen minutes by car. You can do kayaking, sailing, and mountain biking there. The walking is good. The Kielder Observatory is up there too, it’s worth a visit.
It’s dark here at night. We’re in the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, so the stars are clear.
For a day out, Hadrian’s Wall is under an hour’s drive. The coast at Bamburgh or Alnwick is a bit over an hour.
It has a woodburning stove, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. There's an electric vehicle charger. Parking is right outside. The entrance and the main room are level for wheelchair access.
