Lake View Cottage
Lake View Cottage is in Falstone, near Kielder Water. It's a small terrace cottage from the 1800s. You can see the reservoir from the big windows in the kitchen and living room, and from the decking out the back.
It sleeps four, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are mentioned as being steep. They are cottage stairs, so just take care.
It's quiet here. You can walk or cycle straight from the back gate onto the paths. The local pub is about a mile away. The Kielder Water & Forest Park visitor centre is about the same distance.
It's a Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear at night, the stars are incredible. The Kielder Observatory isn't far if you want to look through their telescopes.
For a change of scene, Bellingham is about ten miles away for shops and pubs. Hexham is about twenty-six miles, it's a nice historic town. You can drive to the coast or to Hadrian's Wall in under an hour.
Facilities: there's a wood burner, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
