Lake View Cottage
Lake View Cottage is in Falstone, Northumberland. It's a mid-terrace cottage from the 1800s, so the walls are thick and the ceilings are a bit low in places. It sleeps five, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the view over Kielder Water. There's a big window in the living room and another in the kitchen, so you can see it from inside. The back garden is on a slope, so it's tiered decking. You get the whole view from there too.
It's very dark here at night, because we're in the International Dark Sky Park. You can see a lot of stars. The Kielder Observatory is up the road if you want to use their telescopes. Sometimes you can see the Northern Lights.
You can walk or cycle straight from the back gate. The Kielder Water cycle path goes right past. The local pub is about a mile away, it does food. The Tower Knowe visitor centre is about the same distance.
For a bigger day out, Leaplish Waterside Park is five miles away. They have a swimming pool, a bird of prey centre, and a ferry you can get on. Bellingham is ten miles for shops and banks. Hexham is about twenty-six miles for a historic market town.
In the facilities: there's a wood burner, a washing machine, TV, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The garden is enclosed. Sorry, no pets.
