No 2 Railway Cuttings Falstone

No 2 Railway Cuttings is a semi-detached cottage next to mine, at Falstone Station. It's one of only a few homes here now. The place used to be part of the old railway line to Scotland. It's all on one level inside.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms, one double and one twin. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The underfloor heating works well. The décor is modern. The kitchen has what you need. It's wheelchair accessible from outside.

The local pub is about a five minute walk. They do food. There's a little shop and tearoom in the village over the road.

You're right in the Northumberland Dark Sky Park here. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way from the garden. No special equipment needed. The Kielder Observatory is nearby, but you have to book visits in advance.

Kielder Water is the big draw. It's a ten minute drive for walking, cycling, or sailing. Leaplish there has a pool and spa you can use, plus a pub. The cottage overlooks the North Tyne river and the hills.

Bellingham is nine miles away for a bank, shops, and a supermarket. Hexham is about 25 miles. The Northumberland coast, like Bamburgh, is a good hour or so's drive for a day out.

Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right outside. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
