The Left Luggage Office

The Left Luggage Office is in Falstone, which is part of the Kielder area in Northumberland. It's an apartment that used to be part of Falstone Station. That's where the name comes from. It's on the ground floor and everything is on one level, which makes it straightforward to get around.

It's for two people. There's one bedroom with a double bed and a separate shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after and comfortable. The heating is underfloor, so it's even and warm.

The main thing about the place is the sky at night. It's in the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, so there's very little light pollution. You can see the Milky Way clearly on a good night. You sometimes get the Northern Lights, too. If you're into that, the Kielder Observatory is just up the road. They run events.

During the day, you're right next to Kielder Water and the forest. It's good for walking and mountain biking. There's bike storage here if you bring your own. You can get a ferry on the lake as well. The village has a shop and a pub about five minutes' walk away.

Inside, the living area is open plan with the kitchen. It's decorated with a railway theme. At Christmas, we put up festive decorations. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and there's parking right outside.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included, and there's a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, which is handy.

For more about the area, Visit Kielder has information on activities, and Northumberland National Park covers the walking routes.
