Heron Barn

Heron Barn is in Hollingbourne, just off the A20. It's a detached barn conversion. You get your own little patio area with a table.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place so it's a bit nicer than the basics, but it's still a barn. The main room is open plan, which is good if you're cooking and chatting. The front door is step-free.

The barn is from 1761, it was used for hops. You can see the old beams. The stairs up to the bedroom are a ship's ladder style, so they're steep and a bit narrow.

You can bring one dog. They're not allowed on the furniture or upstairs. There's a bottle of English wine left for you when you arrive.

In the shared grounds there's an outdoor heated swimming pool. It's only open in the summer, roughly May to September depending on the weather. There's also a shared games room with a pool table and table tennis.

The local pub, the Dirty Habit, is about half a mile away. It does food. For shops, you'll need to drive to Lenham or Maidstone.

Leeds Castle is about a ten minute drive. It's good for a walk around the grounds. For a longer day out, the Kent coast is maybe 40 minutes. Canterbury is about half an hour away.

In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. If you're coming with more people, you can book this place together with the other two cottages here.
