Rohan Cottage is in Thorgill. It's a two bedroom sandstone cottage, built in the 1860s for the miners who worked round here. You can still see the old iron kilns on the hillside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not luxury.
Inside, it's kept a lot of the old features. There's an original fireplace in the dining room. The living room has an open fire set into an old cast iron oven. The kitchen has what you need. The wifi works.
The garden is over the road from the front door. It's enclosed. There's a raised seating area up there with a good view over the fields.
Rosedale Abbey is about a mile and a half away. It's a small village with a couple of pubs, some tea rooms, and a shop. You can walk from the cottage up to the pub on Blakey Ridge if you want. It's a proper moorland walk.
You're right in the North York Moors. For a day out, the steam train from Pickering to Whitby is good. Whitby, Staithes, and Robin Hood's Bay are all within about half an hour by car.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels are included, and there's bike storage. We take up to two dogs.
