Rowan Cottage Thorgill

Rowan Cottage is in Thorgill. It's a stone cottage in a row of six. It's quiet up here. The road up is narrow and winding, that's just how it is. You have to drive a bit slower.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It has a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not a show home. The kitchen has terracotta tiles. The stable door opens onto a small patio with a view straight out over the moor. You sometimes see deer.

There are four steps down from the kitchen into the living room. That's where the wood burner is. The stairs up to the bedrooms are normal, not a ladder or anything.

You get one parking space right next to the cottage. The garden bit outside is yours to use.

The nearest pub is about a mile away in Rosedale Abbey. They do food. There's a village shop there too.

You're right in the North York Moors. The walking is straight from the door. For a day out, Pickering is about 20 minutes by car. Helmsley is about the same. You can be at the coast in Whitby or Robin Hood's Bay in under 40 minutes.

Facilities wise: it has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's a stairgate. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
