Ysgubor Lodge is a modern cabin in Llanwrin, near Machynlleth. It's on a small, private park of a few other lodges, so it's quiet but not totally isolated. The views out the back are the main thing, straight down the valley.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms: one double, one kingsize, and one with bunk beds. The bunk room is really only suitable for children. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. Everything's included: bedding, towels, electricity.
The living area is all open plan. Big windows at the back make it feel light and you get that view from inside. There's a decent kitchen with a dishwasher and a washing machine. The garden is enclosed, with a picnic bench and a BBQ.
You're about four miles from Machynlleth. That's where the main shops are, a few takeaways, and the train station. The coast at Aberdovey is about a twenty minute drive.
If you like walking, you can start straight from the door. For something specific, the Dyfi Osprey Project is close by for birdwatching. The area is known as the Mach Loop, so you often see low-flying military aircraft practicing in the valley. It's quite something.
Further out, you've got the bike trails at Dyfi Bike Park, or the beaches at Tywyn and Barmouth. Portmeirion is about an hour's drive. For general information, Visit Mid Wales and Snowdonia National Park are useful.
Facilities are all listed. The WiFi is good. No pets allowed.
