Jasmine Cottage is in Aberllefenni, which is sort of in the middle of Wales. It's a one-bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It's got a 3 Star rating, so think comfortable and clean rather than luxurious.
The cottage is part of an old chapel from 1825. Us and our family live in the top part. You'll have the ground floor cottage and garden to yourselves. The place has slate floors, beams, and a wood burner. The bathroom has a shower. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included.
The main thing is the setting. It's very quiet. The river Dulas runs through the two-acre garden at the bottom. You can hear it from the cottage. Across the river there are oak woods that are a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There are paths through them that go past a small gorge with waterfalls, and they lead you to the villages of Aberllefenni and Corris.
It's good walking country straight from the door. We're on the edge of Snowdonia. The market town of Machynlleth is about twenty minutes drive. That's where you'll find the main shops and the Museum of Modern Art Wales. The Centre for Alternative Technology is down the valley at Pantperthog.
If you want to see the sea, the beaches at Ynyslas and Aberdovey are about half an hour away by car.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
There's a pub, a restaurant, and a shop in Corris, which is about two miles away.
We also have Honeysuckle Cottage next door. They can be booked together if there are up to four of you.
