Pen Y Bryn is a treehouse. It’s in Glantwymyn, in Powys. That’s mid Wales. The whole thing is built up in the trees.
It sleeps five, but it’s one open-plan room. There’s a proper double bed, and three single beds in a bunk set-up. One bathroom. The shower is underneath the main structure. The toilet is a compost toilet, on its own platform nearby.
It has a 3 Star rating. It’s clean and it works. It’s not a hotel. There's a wood burner for heat. The kitchen is small but has what you need. The stairs up to it are a spiral staircase. It’s fine, but mind your head.
You’re in the trees. You’ll see birds and squirrels. There’s a stream. It’s quiet.
For things to do, you’re about half an hour from the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Good walking from there. Machynlleth is a ten minute drive. It’s a small town with shops and a market on Wednesdays. The coast at Aberdyfi or Borth is about half an hour’s drive. Aberystwyth is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
In terms of what’s here: bedding is included. There’s parking right by the base of the treehouse. There’s an outdoor patio area. No pets. The facilities list says ‘Unique’, which is fair. It’s a treehouse.
