Gwdw Hw

It's called Gwdw Hw. It's a treehouse, up in Glantwymyn, which is near Machynlleth. Technically Mid Wales, really.

It sleeps five, but I'd say that's a couple with kids. It's one room, essentially, but there's a solid double bed and built-in bunk beds. One proper bathroom just a few steps away under the main platform, with a hot shower and a compost toilet.

The main thing is the treehouse itself. You're up in the branches. Big windows looking straight out into the woods. You can watch the birds from bed. There's a wood burner to keep the place warm, a small kitchen area, and a rope bridge to get across to part of it. The kids love it. Adults tend to love it too.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-built, but you need to remember it's a treehouse. You're staying in the woods.

The location is quiet. You're in a private woodland valley. There are a couple of other similar places nearby on the same land, if you had a bigger group wanting to book together.

For things to do, you're well placed. Snowdonia National Park is about a 40-minute drive north for walking. The coast at Aberdyfi is about half an hour west for a beach day. Machynlleth is the nearest proper town, about ten minutes by car, for shops and cafes. The Red Ridge Centre nearby does activities like kayaking and zip-lining if you're after that.

Facilities are what you'd expect: the wood burner, bedding included, your own outdoor seating area, and parking right by the base of the structure. It's listed as glamping, which is about right. It's more solid than a tent, but you're still in nature. No pets allowed, sorry.
