Hengoed

Hengoed is a treehouse. It's near Glantwymyn in Powys. It's for two adults, and up to three children can sleep in the bunk beds. So five total, but it's cosy.

It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and has what you need, but it's basic. It's a proper treehouse. You get to the shower from outside, under the main structure. The toilet is a compost loo, on its own platform nearby. You reach everything by rope bridges and spiral stairs. It's an adventure.

Inside, there's a wood burner for heat, a small kitchen area, and the beds look out into the trees. The windows are round. You'll see squirrels and birds. At night, you can see the stars if it's clear.

It's very quiet. You're in the woods with a stream nearby. Machynlleth is about five miles away for shops, a market on Wednesdays, pubs, and cafes.

You're on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Good for walks. About half an hour west, there's the Red Ridge Centre for activities like kayaking or zip wires.

For a day out, you can drive to the coast. Aberystwyth is about 40 minutes. Aberdyfi is a bit closer and has a beach and a golf course.

Facilities: bedding is included, there's parking, and you have your own bit of garden. There's a wood burner, so bring logs or buy them locally. No pets.
