Clachries Cottage
Clachries Cottage is in Sandyhills, right at the end of a private lane. It’s a detached white cottage with its own garden.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom upstairs. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s been modernised to a good standard. Everything’s clean and it feels quite new inside.
There’s a boot room when you come in, handy for dumping sandy wellies. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
The back garden backs right onto the 6th tee of the Colvend Golf Course. You can hear people playing sometimes. It’s a short walk from there down to the beach at Sandyhills Bay. It’s sandy, good for kids and dogs. You can bring up to two dogs.
Roughly half an hour’s drive gets you to Dalbeattie for shops, or to Castle Douglas. Kirkcudbright is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. It’s a good base for the Solway Coast.
