Hillview Port William

Hillview is in Port William, looking out over Luce Bay. It's a terraced cottage that sleeps six. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

We renovated it last year, so everything's new and clean. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. There's a bedroom and a shower room downstairs, which is useful. The kitchen doors open onto a patio.

One of the bedrooms has a day bed that can be made up as a twin or a double. The stairs are standard, nothing unusual.

Port William is small. There's a village shop and a cafe that does food. The beach at Monreith is about a five minute drive away. It's sandy and good for swimming. The coastal scenery around here is all rugged cliffs and quiet beaches.

If you drive along the coast, you can visit places like Portpatrick and the Isle of Whithorn. The Mull of Galloway is the southernmost point in Scotland. There's an RSPB reserve there and the views are excellent on a clear day. The Logan Botanical Gardens are worth a trip if you like that sort of thing.

St Medans golf course is about three miles away. It's a nine-hole course right by the shore. The roads are quiet, so it's good for cycling.

For facilities, you've got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Electricity is too. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
