Kirroughtree Lodge
Kirroughtree Lodge is a lovely 16th-century gate house, which has been lovingly restored and refurbished having been in the family for four generations. Whilst retaining all its charm, it has been redesigned internally incorporating an airy and bright living/dining room with open fire. The kitchen with its modern-day appliances also retains the original working fireplace. With two double bedrooms, one with additional sofa bed and a modern shower room, Kirroughtree Lodge guarantees you a welcoming holiday home where you can experience the beauty of Galloway. Don’t forget your four-legged friends they are very welcome at Kirroughtree Lodge and a large, enclosed garden awaits.
Set on the fringes of town Kirroughtree Lodge is a short walk into Newton Stewart a picturesque market town at the heart of this stunning rural area and offers, a wide variety of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. Known as ‘The Gateway to the Galloway Hills’. With the Galloway Forest and Dark Skies Park only a short drive away, Kirroughtree Lodge is ideally placed to explore the beauty of southwest Scotland. This area of Dumfries and Galloway, known as The Machars, boasts rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream, and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, with Kirroughtree and the world renowned 7Stanes mountain bike trails on your doorstep as well as a host of walking trails in the forest. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world-renowned Logan Botanical Gardens as well as many pretty little harbour villages including the Isle of Whithorn and further along the coast Portpatrick where you can sit and enjoy a drink whilst watching the boats coming and going.
