The Dairy Cottage is a pretty cottage surrounded by an enclosed garden where you can sit and enjoy dining alfresco when the weather is fine. There are a host of outside children’s games for the young, and perhaps not so young, to enjoy, and perhaps the icing on the cake is the large wood-fired hot tub in the rear garden for you to relax in after a day exploring the area. All on the ground floor The Dairy Cottage offers plenty of space for all the family. With its lovely open fire in the living room where you can curl up and relax on the comfortable sofas whilst watching a movie or enjoy a meal together whipped up in the very well equipped kitchen. There are two large bedrooms, one double, and one twin, they are decorated in relaxing pastel colours complimented by the artwork and bedding.
Situated in a delightful rural location The Diary Cottage is only a mile from Whithorn where you will find a variety of small shops ideal for your everyday staples as well as a newly refurbished pub/restaurant. With its 12th century priory, Museum and Visitor Centre it’s well worth a stroll round the village. Head in the opposite direction only 2. 5 miles away and you will stumble upon the Isle of Whithorn a picturesque small harbour village where you can enjoy a cup of tea in the tearoom overlooking the water.
From The Diary Cottage you have the ideal location to explore the wider area with its breathtaking scenery in this beautiful corner of South West Scotland. Close by is the Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park and first Dark Sky Park in the UK with 300 square miles of wild beauty is just waiting to be explored. There are many beautiful gardens to visit, including the renowned Logan Botanical Gardens, which is a paradise to behold. You can also explore quaint villages such as Sandhead, Port William, Portpatrick and the Mull of Galloway, home to the RSPB nature reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest on the cliff face during spring and summer. The cottage is a short drive from Wigtown, which is famous for being Scotland’s National Book Town, a book lovers haven. From The Dairy Cottage it is a fantastic base to enjoy walking whether it be dramatic clifftop walks, hills or forests to quiet country rambles. Cyclists and Golfers are not forgotten either with the World renowned 7Stanes mountain biking tracks at Kirroughtree Forest and several excellent Golf course within a very short drive of The Dairy Cottage.
