Ketburn Shepherds Hut is nestled on a rural working dairy farm close to the delightful little villages of Whithorn and the Isle of Whithorn.
Ketburn Shepherds Hut is a unique little bolt holt charmingly furnished with a mix of colours and textures which you will love for its comfort and style. It is beautifully warm and cosy and with its king size bed and lovely wood burner to snuggle up for a romantic break away. Also to one side of the Hut is a small kitchen area where you can whip up some simple meals or take yourself outside to your own private garden with gas barbecue and firepit and rustle up something tasty. It really is a place to “get back to nature” and with no Wi-Fi, the shower and compost loo are both situated in external cabins.
Luxuriating in Ketburn Shepherds Hut is a wonderful way to spend a day or two perhaps even stopping off here on our trip around the SW Coastal 300, a stunning road trip around the South West of Scotland.
There are an abundance of things to keep you entertained in this beautiful corner of South West Scotland from the extreme to the sedate. Explore the many cliff top walks and rugged coastline or just sit and relax on the many secluded and sandy beaches.
Just a short drive away is the picturesque little village of the Isle of Whithorn where you can either sail, fish or just sit and relax in the tearoom or pub overlooking the harbour. Further along the coast are the equally delightful little villages of Port William and Portpatrick and well worth a short stroll round.
With beautiful gardens like the world-renowned Logan Botanical Gardens with its exotic plants and trees or Glenwhan Gardens to visit not to mention the Galloway Forest Park, the UK’s first dark sky park with its many and varied walks and beathtaking Loch Trool the area is full of adventure.
Return to Ketburn Shepherds Hut and spend the evening enjoying the dark skies and millions of stars from the comfort of the wood-fired hot tub reminiscing over your days adventures. Beach 5 miles.
