Ashgrove

Ashgrove is in Southerness. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on the ground floor. There's another one just like it next door, but it's separate. You get your own garden and there's a gate between them if you've booked both.

It sleeps eight people over four bedrooms. Two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and looked after. It feels open and light inside.

The main thing is the view. You can see the Solway Firth from the front and the Galloway hills out the back. It's quiet.

The beach is about a five minute walk down the road. It's sandy. The village itself is small. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant, all about the same distance as the beach. The lighthouse is worth a look.

You're a short drive from things if you want to go out. Dumfries is about fifteen minutes away for shops and that. For walking or cycling, the Galloway Forest Park is brilliant. There's good mountain biking at Dalbeattie. The RSPB Mersehead nature reserve is just along the coast.

If you play golf, the Southerness course is right there. There are others around too.

Inside, there's a games room with a pool table and things to keep people busy. There's a hot tub in the garden. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
