Ashgrove is in Southerness, about five hundred yards from the beach. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. That's handy if stairs are a problem. It sits next to another cottage we own, with a fence and a gate between them. You get your own garden and patio.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms, and there are two bathrooms. It has a 5 Star rating, which is the top one. It's clean and well-equipped.
The place looks south over the sea, and north towards Criffel and the Galloway Hills. There's a hot tub and a games room with things like a pool table. You can bring up to two dogs.
Southerness itself is a small village. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant all about five minutes' walk away. The lighthouse is interesting to see. The beach is sandy, and there's a championship golf course right by it.
You're in a good spot for getting out. The Galloway Forest Park is about forty minutes by car for walking and dark sky views. For mountain biking, the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes trails are well-known and about twenty minutes away. Dumfries is roughly twenty five minutes by car. Historic places like Drumlanrig Castle or Sweetheart Abbey are within a half hour drive.
What's here: a dishwasher, washing machine, included WiFi, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are provided. We can put out a cot and highchair if you need them.
