Firth Lodge

Firth Lodge is in Southerness, right on the Solway coast. It's a detached house, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. The beach is about a hundred yards away. It's sandy and it's proper beach, not just a strip. Gets busy in summer, dead quiet in winter.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's roomy and it's been done up to a decent standard. Everything's on one level, which is good if stairs are a problem. The garden's enclosed too.

There's a shop, a pub and a restaurant within a couple of minutes' walk. The golf course is even closer, maybe a five minute stroll. It's a championship course.

If you like getting out, you're set. The coast path is right there. For mountain biking, the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes trails are about twenty minutes by car. The Galloway Forest Park is half an hour inland. It's huge, good for walking and you might see some deer.

Dumfries is about fifteen miles away for bigger shops. Sweetheart Abbey is nearby. Drumlanrig Castle is worth a trip, it's about forty minutes' drive. The RSPB Mersehead reserve is just along the coast if you're into birdwatching.

What's here: parking, WiFi, a washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's bike storage in the shed.
