Beachcomber Lodge is on Southerness Holiday Park. It's one of the lodges near the front. The main thing is the view from the lounge. It looks straight out over the beach and the Solway Firth. You can see Cumbria on a clear day.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and well kept. The living space is open plan with patio doors. You can sit inside and still see everything.
The beach is about twenty yards away. It's sandy. The village has a shop and a pub that does food, about five minutes walk. The lighthouse is there too, it's old. Southerness Golf Club is right next door if that's your thing.
For a day out, Caerlaverock Castle is about half an hour's drive. It's a proper medieval fortress in a wetland area. Threave Garden and Estate is nice for a walk, that's near Castle Douglas. Dumfries itself has the Robert Burns House if you're interested. The Galloway Forest Park is about forty minutes away for more serious walking or dark sky spotting.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The patio is enclosed. You can bring one dog. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
