Wavecrest
So this is Wavecrest. It's a bungalow in Southerness, right on the coast. Detached. We had it done up a few years ago.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, good size for two couples or a family. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the view. You open the front door and the living room looks straight out over the Solway Firth. You can see the English Lake District on a clear day. The kitchen's new, with a breakfast bar. There's a conservatory off the living room. You can sit in there with the door open and hear the sea.
The beach is about twenty yards away. Literally just over the road. The village itself is small. There's a shop fifty yards up the road. A pub and a restaurant about a five minute walk. The Southerness lighthouse is there, you can walk to it along the coast. The golf course is a championship one, if that's your thing.
For facilities, there's a washing machine, TV, wi-fi. Parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
Good base for exploring. You're right on the coast path for walking. Dumfries is about half an hour's drive. You're not far from some of the Galloway Forest parks if you want to go inland.
