Sand View
Sand View is a bungalow in Southerness. It's detached, single storey, and we fixed it all up a couple of years ago so it's in good shape. It sleeps six people, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The main thing is the view. You look right out over the Solway Firth to the Lake District on the other side. You can sit in the conservatory and just watch it. The beach is about a minute's walk away.
The village is small. There's a shop 50 yards up the road for basics. The pub, which does food, is about a ten minute walk. The lighthouse is here too, it's quite old. The championship golf course starts just behind the house.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden at the back is enclosed, so it's secure for them. There's parking for two cars on the drive.
Inside, we've tried to make it comfortable rather than fancy. It's got a four-star rating, which means everything works and it's clean. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and the wifi is decent. All the bedding and towels are included.
If you want to go further out, Dumfries is about half an hour's drive for bigger shops. The whole coast here is good for walking. You're not far from the Galloway Forest, either, if you like that.
