Sand View
This is Sand View. It's a bungalow in Southerness, detached, so no neighbours on the walls. We redid it all a couple of years ago so it's fresh and clean inside. It sleeps six, three bedrooms, one bathroom.
The main thing is the view. You get the whole Solway Firth from the front. On a clear day, you can see all the way across to the Lake District hills. There's a conservatory you can sit in and watch it.
The beach is basically outside. You're 20 yards from it. The village is small. There's a shop 50 yards away for basics, and a pub and restaurant about five minutes' walk.
You've got the lighthouse here, it's old, from the 1700s. The golf course is a championship one if that's your thing. For walking, you're right on the coast. The Southern Upland Way passes nearby.
Inside, it's comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you want to explore, Dumfries is about half an hour's drive. Caerlaverock Castle is worth a visit, and there's Threave Estate for gardens and walks. The Galloway Forest Park is about an hour away for proper forests and dark skies.
