Beeches View
Beeches View is a lodge on the Southerness Holiday Park. It's a modern, single-storey place, detached, so you've got your own space. It sleeps four, two bedrooms and one shower room. The main room is open plan, kitchen, dining area and sitting room all together. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The position is good. You can see the sea from there, and on a clear day you can see the hills of the Lake District across the Solway Firth. The beach is a short walk away. The village has a pub, a shop, places to eat. The golf course is right there, it's a championship links course if that's your thing.
On the park itself there's an indoor swimming pool and sometimes evening entertainment. The old lighthouse is worth a look, it's one of the oldest in Scotland.
If you want to get out, Dalbeattie is about twenty minutes away for the mountain biking trails at the 7stanes. There's an RSPB reserve along the coast at Mersehead. For gardens, Threave Garden is about a forty minute drive. Dumfries itself is half an hour or so.
In terms of what's there: it's got a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
