This is Beeches View. It's on the Southerness holiday park, which is near the village. It's a single-storey lodge, so all on one level, which a few people find easier.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and a shower room. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and modern.
It's detached and you get your own bit of decking outside. You can see the sea from there, and on a clear day you can see the hills on the other side of the Solway, over in Cumbria.
The village is walking distance, maybe ten minutes. There's a pub and a small shop there. The beach is down there too, with the old lighthouse. The golf course is famous if that's your thing.
On the park itself, there's an indoor swimming pool you can use. They sometimes have entertainment in the main building.
If you want to go further, the area is quiet. Good for walking and cycling. There's the Dalbeattie Forest mountain biking about twenty minutes away. For a day out, you could drive to Dumfries in under half an hour. The Threave Garden is about a forty minute drive from here.
It's a good spot if you want a mix of having things on site but also being able to get out into the countryside easily.
