Middle House is our place in Steyning. We don't live there full time now, so we let it out. It's a Georgian townhouse, right on the High Street. You walk through an archway into a private courtyard to get to the front door, so it's quiet even though you're in the middle of town.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with kingsize beds. One bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath. There's a separate downstairs loo. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, it's our home.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen is fine, it has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a dining room. The courtyard gets the sun and we've got some plants out there.
You're about three minutes' walk from the High Street. Steyning's good for that, it's got proper shops and a few cafes. There's a Co-op for groceries. The Norman church is worth a look.
The main thing is you're right on the edge of the South Downs. You can walk up to the Downs Way from the end of the town. Chanctonbury Ring is a famous walk from here, it's about three miles up. The views are great.
For the coast, Shoreham-by-Sea is about a fifteen minute drive. Brighton is half an hour. Arundel, with the castle and wetland centre, is about twenty minutes the other way.
Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking for one car in the courtyard. No pets, sorry.
